This series is an homage to my love of sharks. Line work is drawn in pen-dipped walnut ink and washed in watercolor pigments.
Sharks have been on earth longer than trees, are cancer-free organisms, are intelligent and curious; not the monsters they're often made out to be.
When my boys were little, we watched videos of people swimming with whale sharks. I wanted my children to see them as a wonderful part of the world deserving our respect, but not fear. In 2023 we as a family made the dream finally come true and swam with whale sharks ourselves!
